Tivo 6 loses audio on both recordings and live TV if paused or rewound.

My Virgin Tivo 6 continues to give a disappointing experience. It has recently started intermittently dropping the audio channel if a recording is paused or rewound. The problem has now started on live TV as well. The box plays into a Sony Bravia with Sony sound bar which performs without problems on other inputs. I have reset the box but not found any improvement. The only "cure" seems to be turning both TV & Tivo off and back on then rewinding to where one lost audio, hoping it has come back. Usually works first go but not always. Is there a cure?

Try disabling the TiVo sound effects? Maybe that's confusing your sound bar

Thanks for suggestion, I've turned them off. I've realised how annoying they were now they're gone, so not missing them at all. Not sure if it's cured the problem - being intermittent it will be a while before I'll know.

Are you using HDMI ARC? If so, try connecting the sound bar to the V6 by a TOSLINK cable and the TV to the V6 by HDMI (non-ARC).

Thanks for suggestion. The box seems to be behaving itself again so I don't know what was causing it. I can only assume there's been a bug fix to whatever caused it to start playing up in the first place. Time will tell.
