TiVos on home network

New V6 and old TiVo - if both are hardwired on my network I can watch programs from one on the other which is good.

I can't ping the V6 which is unusual but I can see it is on my home subnet in a network scanner.

If I remove the Ethernet cable from the V6 (as that is how I need it as I have no nearby connection) I can "see" the recordings on the other box but if I try to watch one it hangs and requires a reboot. However I can see both on the network, and ping both.

Any thoughts please?

Re: TiVos on home network

If you set the box network access while connected via Ethernet, You would need to re-setup the network access to wifi on that box. In the past people have needed to split their 2,4 and 5  network frequency to avoid the box getting confused.

Re: TiVos on home network

I'm pretty sure that;s what I did, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see each from the other. But when I can grab a few mins I will try that again to check.

Thanks
