TiVo V6 replacement Hub already in different room

Help needed. My Grandad had an issue last week where he lost all picture and sound on his ancient TiVo box.
VM have sent a new V6 box. The instructions state it needs to be connected to the hub, however this has always been in a separate room as my grandparents had two coaxial points fitted at the property years ago.
How do we set up the V6 box when the hub is elsewhere??

Hey @ElJeyEmmEss Thanks for reaching out to us on the VM forums. 👋🏼

The V6 box can be connected Wi-Fi if needed.
Or you can get extra long ethernet cables to ensure a wired connection.

Have you managed to get it all installed?
Let us know.

Kind regards.

Thanks both. Unfortunately the hub needs to stay where it is and where it has been for nearly 20 years.
An engineer has been allocated by VM today as WiFi connectivity is only available once it’s been connected to the Ethernet and downloaded the necessary, as my grandfather is nearing 80 this is something vm should have thought about before sending a quick set up

Hello ElJeyEmmEss.

Thank you for replying.

We will make sure the above issues are fed back to improve the service going forward.

Are the mains power sockets for both the hub and the V6 both on the same electrical ring main? If they are then you could use powerline adapters which would allow the box to be connected via Ethernet
