TiVo V6 box not connecting to on demand or catch up

Received replacement TiVo V6 box. All connected but there's no on demand, catch-up, and I can't search. This is in a bedroom connected on wifi. The TiVo V6 box downstairs is connected the same except has the ethernet cable. Any ideas what's wrong. The box is pretty useless at the moment and a waste of money if these services aren't available. Old style box worked perfect

Probably caused by a poor WiFi connection.

On the V6 which is WiFi-connected:

Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network > View Network Status >

and report:

Link Status

Signal strength

Connection Speed

I'm not sure it can be the WiFi as all the other boxes are working fine

Yes, OK, but if you do as asked above we may get some information which may help understand why you have an issue.

If you have identified it’s not the WiFi then perhaps someone else can help.

Link status, connected (5GHz)

Signal strength, 87% (excellent)

Connection speed, 1053 Mbps

Your figures are good. What happens if you swap the boxes?

So I've swapped this box with the one downstairs and it's exactly the same downstairs. No search facility, ion demand or catch up. The one from downstairs works perfect upstairs just on wifi.

Could it really be that virgin have sent me a replacement V6 box for the one downstairs and not to replace the old TiVo box in the bedroom. That's all I can think because when I try to find the remote on virgin connect app it can't find the box either

Have you tried forcing a connection to the VM service?

Home>Help&Settings>Settings>Network>Connect to the VM Service Now

If that doesn't work you'll probably need to phone in and report a fault 😞

Yeah I've tried that and it goes through the process and everything's ticked.
