recently my v6 box suddenly stopped having any lights on the front and from what I’ve read online that means the box is dead
Presumably, you've proven the power socket etc, as all good? And made sure the power connections haven't become loose?
If the V6 won't power up in these circumstances, then you probably do need to call and report the fault.

Yes this is the forum account related to a my own household but the TV box at my girlfriends house is the one that has gone out, sorry for the confusion just though it would be easier to reuse this account
