TV apps staying blank

I have just reinstalled a new TV V6 box but when I click on any of the apps (e.g. iPlayer or Netflix), the screen just goes black and stays blank.... Any suggestions??

Re: TV apps staying blank

Can you use any On Demand services? Have you checked that your box has a working internet connection?

Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network. Does it report connected in the top-right?

Re: TV apps staying blank

Yep I’m connected to the internet, with no issues in the area.

Re: TV apps staying blank

Are you able to use Catch Up or any other OnDemand services?

Pick any program you like from CatchUp and does it play ok?

Re: TV apps staying blank

Are you using the VM Hub or do you have it in modem mode with your own router?  If the latter (modem mode) you need to make sure you're using VM's DNS when setting up the box for the first time. Once set up you can go back to your own choice of DNS (e.g. OpenDNS, Google, etc.)

If you're using the hub,  give it a few hours and if still no joy report a fault.

Also try going to Network Settings and connecting to the VM service manually. If you haven't done so already, a box reboot is also worth a shot.

Re: TV apps staying blank

I suspect that your V6, without you realising, may not have a working internet connection.

Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network. Does it report connected in the top-right?

In the top-left it should timestamp the most recent network connection in the preceeding 6ish hours. Does it?

I’m using the VM hub, and it says it’s connected... will try a reboot...
