TV Password

Hi,

So I forgot my pin no for my TV. Noticed that after some failed attempts, you can do a pin reset, by putting in letters from your password. But using my password for my internet login to Virgin Media, did not work. So I rang Virgin Media, told them I never had or forgot my security password. Went through the process and got a new password and was told this would also link to the TV, wait 30 mins, then try to resit pin again. Which I did, but it still does not like the password. So is the TV password, different again? How do I get a new TV password to reset my Pin?

Any help much appreciated.

Re: TV Password

Your default Virgin TV V6 box PIN is 1234.

Changing your PIN
Using your remote HOME > Help & Settings > Parental Controls then enter your current PIN. > Change PIN.

Re: TV Password

Are you saying that you've reset your account password, and it's not being accepted on the PIN reset system?

Re: TV Password

Hi the pin number for your TV box is four numbers, not the same as your account number, as newapollo has said the default is 1234. Regards Micky

Re: TV Password

Yes. I've reset my security password, but the TV is not accepting the new password.

Re: TV Password

I've never had to do this reset "in anger", but...

Has it been more than 24hours since you confirmed the password change?

Does the default PIN previously advised, not work?

Have you reset the V6 incase it's picking up an old password somehow?

If all these are covered off, I can only suggest waiting for the staff team to pick this up.

Re: TV Password

As others have said the Default Security Password for your tv box is 4 numbers 1234 not the password for your account.

Re: TV Password

Yes the default pin may well have been 1234, but I changed it and now cannot remember it.

So to do a pin reset, you need to input 3 letters from your password. However my TV wont accept my security password.

So who do I go to, to resolve this? Ring Virgin again?

Re: TV Password

Check my post 6 above, and see where we go from there...

I can't think of anywhere on the VM website where your telephone password can be entered (for checking), if there was that would be worth a shot.
