TV Box

I have a problem with my Tivo box and was told on this forum that the Tivo box would not work properly with a K4 tv, so I contacted Virgin and they sent a new box (it arrived within the 24hr window). My problem is that it looks exactly like the Tivo box I already have. I thought they would send the V6. Do these units look alike?

Hi pdomanski,

The two boxes look completely different. https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-box 

The V6 is the one in the middle, and the older TIVO is on the right.

Remember the V6 requires VM home broadband. If you don't have that, then you will only get a TiVo.

Thanks for coming back to us @pdomanski.

 

The team would try to replace your service like for like unless you request to change the box to a V6.

 

I can see that your box was activated on the 28th May, have you been able to use the box since that date?

Not recorded anything yet to play-back (that seemed to be the time that the box played up.

Will keep you informed.

Have I lost all recordings on my old box? (could they be transferred?)

I will start with the bad news, yes unfortunately all of your recordings will be lost and we cannot recover them on your new box.

 

Please give it a try, when you can and let us know, if you have the same issues.
