Sound no picture with YouTube and iPlayer apps

A while back I was trying to use our YouTube app on the Virgin hub, the video was playing sound but the picture was blank. It was very infuriating as we’d only used it a day or so before so not sure what had changed. Tried troubleshooting advice online and nothing worked so resigned to the fact that we didn’t really need to use YouTube. Today I’ve gone to watch something on the BBC iPlayer app that I have also used before with no issues and the same thing - just sound with a blank screen. How do I fix this?

Re: Sound no picture with YouTube and iPlayer apps

Hi, Anna.

Welcome to Community.

Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to know about your issues.

Because the V6 uses your internet for these apps to function, can I just confirm whether you're using a wired or wireless connection?

Can you please try rebooting your V6 and superhub and try  these apps again to see if there's any improvement?

Let us know how it goes. ^Ellen)_C

Re: Sound no picture with YouTube and iPlayer apps

I believe it’s wired into the hub.

Its made no difference, both apps (iPlayer and YouTube) play sound but no pictures.

I dont know whether it’s helpful or not to add that other apps work just fine e.g. Netflix.

Anna 🙂
