Some channels have no sound

Justjojo2011
Tuning in

So this is started around lunch time today.  We were watching something on itv and the sound just stopped.  We changed channel and it was on. So we assumed it was an itv issue. However there are a few channels that have no sound.

I have followed articles that say to change the audio to Dolby with pcm but that takes the sound off ALL channels so that makes the issue worse.  There are no picture issues, no intermittent sound. It’s as if the channel is muted

I have done nothing to the box or any settings. Seems to have just randomly done this to itself

Any advice please?

Hi @Justjojo2011

Have you tried rebooting the V6?

Are there any known issues in your location?

Have you used the /check-services/i  function? You can also a run a test on your equipment from there.

If nothing is showing  you could also try the automated Service Status number  0800 561 0061.  This often gives details of more local issues down to postcode level.

I’ve checked the service status and there are no known issues in my area.

I have rebooted the box and it seems to have worked.

Thank you

Hi @Justjojo2011

Thanks for updating the thread. Glad to see it's all working again.

It's amazing how many times a reboot works, but the set top boxes (and hubs) are like computers and rebooting computers fixes issues ovr 80 per cent of the time.

Stay safe and take care.

I’m having the same problem, it seems to be the itv channels. I’ve tried all the suggestions but the problem persists.

Hi sando,

Thanks for your post and welcome back to the community.

Many apologies for the issues faced with your TV service, from checking our system I can't seem to find any problems with the box.

Is no sound still the case on some channels?

Let us know,
