I have been having a problem since 1st January 2021 where I get an error message "The DVR has detected a serious problem and is now attempting to fit it". I have been in touch with Virgin via text and they have told me that there is a serious outage problem in my area and this is causing the problem. I have had three dates where they said that the problem would be fixed but its still happening. What can I do?
If this is the green screen that also says "the DVR has detected a serious error" then I'm afraid it sounds like you've been misadvised thus far. This has nothing to do with an area fault, and everything to do with your box's hard drive having failed. It needs replacing.
I'd suggest calling into faults (150 from a VM phone, or 0345 4541111 from any other phone) if you're able.
