S102

New box as our old one has been broken for months, all cables plugged in and secure, loading channel list gets stuck at 33% and then gives the message in the post title (S102).

Noticed loads of others with the same problem saying you need to ring virgin media. I’ve been on hold for over an hour and can’t get through. Is there anything that I can do to fix it as we now have no tv for Christmas?

I'm afraid that, as per https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-error-codes/s102 all the other posts you've seen advising you to call VM are absolutely correct.

This can often be related to a box activation issue - have you recently made any changes to your box or account?

Try calling first thing in the morning before queues have a chance to build up.
