Are you saying that your box is making a "weird noise" - could this be the hard drive having a problem? Virgin's C/S is very much open (along with many agents being home-based), but has a few issues at the moment so you may need to be patient & persistent in not giving up waiting once you're in the call queue.
It's only fair to mention there is currently about a week's delay in VM staff responding on here. You can try the text message service (07533 051809) but that doesn't have an immediate response.
