I am having the same issue with catch up, On Demand and also the apps. Only IPlayer works somehow. 
help needed!

Hi Japitts, thank you I will try this and find out if I can. It is a 4K tv but how would this stop apps from working?
I can’t run non BBC catch up apps. It’s only IPlayer that works.

@SiDe1325  I've merged your duplicate posts into one 🙂

A software update to the V6 a few months ago now, enforces HDCP2.2 on all OnDemand (and some streaming apps) when you're watching in 2160p

On many older TVs, HDCP2.2 is only supported on particular HDMI ports, and quite often an HDMI splitter can upset things too.

https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-error-codes/603 is the way to go - often your TV's manual will advise which HDMI ports (if any) support HDCP2.2

Hi Japitts

thank you for your advice. I have only got round to doing this but I cannot see in the tv manual which hdmi port this would relate to. 
my tv model is a samsung ue55hu7100u.

According to the manual, "HDCP 2.2 can only use the HDMI(MHL) port. HDCP is short for 'High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection'
and is for video copyright protection."

You may need to reboot both the V6 and TV after changing HDMI ports to force them to see each other
