Do you mean the (ITV-branded) Virgin OnDemand programmes, such as ITV CatchUp?

Or programmes watched through the ITV-Hub app? That app is provided by ITV, and is different to an "OnDemand" programme accessed via, say, "Watch from CatchUp"

If you wanted to post details of your setup, including specific model numbers, then others who've come across similar kit may be able to help further.


I mean on-demand through Virgin Media's watch from catch-up, same as everyone else who is encountering the error code.

Excellent, thanks for the confirmation.

In that case, you could well have a different issue to many other users in the post to which you've replied. Yours could be with OnDemand in general, and not necessarily the HDCP issue which this thread is predominantly discussing.

Can you watch affected programmes immediately following a box reboot? If you can, that's strong evidence that any HDCP2.2 requirements are met - and if you get the error subsequently - be it hours, days or weeks later - then something else is triggering this.

At this point, it would be worthwhile getting specific details of the equipment you're using, and others with similar might be able to chip in. What's the make & model of your TV, and any other connected A/V kit?

No I cannot watch the content after a reboot. 

There is no point in providing you details of my equipment. I know what it is capable of and I know the intention behind that question (implying it is user error). 

@ Virgin Mods, there is an issue with how your equipment is reading signals from 4K TVs. It is affecting non 4K content. 

If you would like me to send any logs so you can look into it, I am happy to do so. My 4K TV/cables are all compliant (which they should not need to be to deliver non 4K content anyway).

This would tend to suggest then, that HDCP could be the issue after all.

Posting details of your equipment might allow any other community members who are familiar with that equipment to perhaps assist. Without specific model details, there's only so far that assistance & suggestions can go.

Virgin Media On Demand requires HDCP 2.2 when a V6 box is set to output at 2160p - even when the content itself is in HD or SD.

And the V6 System Information shows that it's talking to that the TV at HDCP 2.2?

Help & Settings > System Info > System Info and then on the second page.
