Re-Activate V6 Box

I left Virgin (TV) in February and my v6 box was supposed to be collected but we went into lockdown so it never was collected. Anyway im in the process of re-joining now as i've been offered a good deal, is it possible for me to re-activate the box i have here rather than them sending me another one. the agent on instant chat seems to think not... I dont see why they cant

VM don’t re-activate boxes that have been disconnected from the network. They can only activate boxes that have been sent out to you by the stores & registered to your new account.
