Poor wifi signal in my home.

Hi,

I have encountered a poor wifi signal within my home.

If I reboot the box, it will work better (nowhere as good as usual) for a few hours before we have to reboot again.

Re: Poor wifi signal in my home.

the wifi on the hub is weak at best.
Its possible someone else has a wireless device that might be interfering. when you reboot the hub should pick what it thinks is the best channel. but other devices around will do the same so may end up sharing channels

Re: Poor wifi signal in my home.

Unless you KNOW it is a wireless issue, it could be a broadband problem.  If you've left the hub on its default settings, the "intelligent wifi" feature should in theory switch channels for optimum wireless performance, so the beneficial impact of a reboot makes me suspect it could be the hub losing connection with VM's network gear.

I'd suggest posting your router's status page data for Downstream, Upstream and Network log (as text, not screenshots) and we'll look for things that might be amiss.

Re: Poor wifi signal in my home.

In your browser’s URL box type in http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode) and hit return.

Don't login, instead below there click on Check Router Status

Re: Poor wifi signal in my home.

Paste the numbers below into your browser address bar:

192.168.0.1

That should bring up a login page.  Don't bother to log in, but click on the link "Check router status", that will bring up a window with five tabs.  All we need is the contents of the three tabs variously titled Downstream, Upstream, and Network log.  They're long pages, so scroll down to select all of it, or use Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy, and then Ctrl-V to paste into separate replies (assuming you're using a device with a physical keyboard).

Re: Poor wifi signal in my home.

Looks to me like a broadband problem, not wifi (although the wireless performance of the Hub 3 is weak, as @Anonymous says).  The range of downstream power levels is too high, from 3 dBmV to 9.4 dBmV, that's likely to cause problems for the hub, and your Network log is full of serious and frequent errors.  There's also the occasionally seen repeated "Atom is restarting as part of self healing", which I speculate means the hub itself is faulty (VM are singularly unhelpful in not saying what that means).  I'll flag your post for the forum staff since there's nothing more we community members can do.
