Poor picture quality on Sky Sports SD channels

Hi All,

I have just resigned up to Virgin and I have the the SD Sky Sports channels and the picture quality is very poor. I still have my NowTV pass and the picture quality is much better than what the TiVo box is giving me. I’ve changed the wires, reset but no luck. I did notice that my box outside my house that houses the wires is loose and has come away from the wall.

It’s the V6 box. It looks like I have better quality on the main event channel but the football, cricket  and golf aren’t great and look much more crisp on my NowTV channels.

1: What's your V6 video output set to? Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Video output.

2: What size TV are you watching on?

The video output is set to 1080p and the tv is a 43in LG tv.

So just to clarify, you're watching a channel that's natively in 576, on a 2160 TV?

Not sure to be honest, I do t know if my tv is a 2160 tv. All I know is, is that when I watch the same channel on NowTV, the picture is considerably better than when I watch it on my TiVo box. If it’s a tv picture issue, why the difference between the two? I have also noticed that the symbol in the top right is slightly cut off when viewing on the TiVo box which also seems strange.

Just as an update, I have checked again and on Sky Sports Mix, I can’t even read the logo and the page is pixelated. 

I only signed up to this on Wednesday so I am seriously considering cancelling and moving to another provider.
