Pixilation

Hi all,

We've over the last week or so been experiencing pixilation on different channels on our TV. BBC iPlayer last night was fine though so it only appears to be live TV? All the cable 'appear' to be fine?

I have checked the service status in our area, all fine and also looked at the help pages.

When I check the 'which TV box do you need help with' it comes up and reports 'our checks have detected an issue with this box. The TV box isn't connecting?' (Both V6 boxes are reporting the same online?)

The SN numbers under each box do not appear to be the same that are on the help page though unless I am reading this incorrectly?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Pixilation

Pixellated pictures on live TV are often the sign of a signal fault. If you've rebooted your box once, then there's likely a fault somewhere, so this will need VM to intervene. You're likely to need an engineer visit, depending on what VM's remote diagnostics turn up.

If only one of your boxes is affected, try swapping them round to see if the fault follows the box move, or remains with the internal cabling. If both are affected, then the problem is likely to be external.

First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and ideally you'll need to call them.

150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service". Alternatively you can wait on here for staff to respond, which may take a day or so.

Re: Pixilation

Thank you for the information.

I may have found the issue. I followed the cable across to the wall socket within the living room, removed the wall socket and found that the cable within had come slightly loose for some unknown reason? Tightening it seems to have done the trick but I will continue to monitor just in case.

Re: Pixilation

Hi plymouthred,

Thank you for your post.

Sorry to hear of the issues you've been having with pixilation here. I also appreciate that you have popped back and updated the thread to say that you have been able to resolve this yourself. So, I just wanted to check in and see how everything is since you've made the change?
