On Demand Apps

Hi,

My iPlayer and Netflix work perfectly, but Prime, C4 and ITV have never played.  The app loads, you can search, but once you hit play I get an error message.

Any help in sorting this would be great.

Thanks,

Rory

Re: On Demand Apps

To an extent, VM are limited in what can be done here. If you can use iPlayer & Netflix, then your box's internet connection is working fine and it's entirely possible the problem is with the apps in question. VM just provide access to those apps but it's Amazon, C4 & ITV who operate them.

That said... is it a problem with specific programmes? You've mentioned getting an error message, but not what that error message is.

Many C4 & ITV programmes are available using VM's OnDemand system, allowing you to bypass the apps completely.

Re: On Demand Apps

As all apps and On Demand use the network connection it's worth checking your speeds (tip: use the play button not the OK button). Here's mine which shows 139.1Mbps down and 36.6Mbps up.

Re: On Demand Apps

Hi, i don't get any error message on all of them.  On W and Channel 4, the virgin ident plays and the first advert and then the screen freezes.  Can you advise?

Re: On Demand Apps

The issues with W and Channel 4 relate to catch-up. The Prime app just says 'something went wrong'. Please try again later. For more help go to amazon.com/videohelp. So it's an issue on both catch up and apps.

Re: On Demand Apps

Are you viewing on a 4K UHD TV?

Some of your symptoms are what often happens if you don't have HDCP 2.2 compliance in your HDMI/TV connections and are trying to watch in 2160.

Dropping your video output to 1080 should at least work around this, and prove that it's the cause.
