No catchup and on demand .

Hi all, 

Received a v6 box with self install package a  ouple of days ago and set it up , had trouble veryfying it 

So phoned the help line , after waiting an hour or so I ended up with somebody who just got me to keep going through what I had already done and when we had no joy she booked me a technician  for this coming Saturday , so I kept trying with a different ethernet cable and finally got it to verify and have working tv , but when I try to use catchup and vod it isn't working .the Internet side of the box doesn't seem to work , when I click on the catch up and then choose match of the day or another program the spinning circle doesn't spin and just loads the previous page . Also tried to pair the remote to my tv using home,,help and settings ,,,help,,,and then non spinning circle saying one moment then it just goes back a page.

Any ideas ?

Can you follow Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network, and report what the top-right corner says?

Also whether there are any failed connections showing on the left.

And on top left of screen it says

So your internet connection isn't the issue then.

Do you get any error messages when you try to watch VOD? If necessary, try watching something from non-BBC CatchUp to test it 🙂

And are you watching on a 4K UHD TV?

2also on the bottom of screen

Getting info finished

Disconnecting finished

Loading I found finished

All with tick to left hand side 

View network status 

Mac 

Link status connected 

Then addresses and last one dns address is a long series of numbers with none at the end 

Then network test 

Port configuration test failed ,, then the next page says I need to open ports , 80,8080,80,7287,7288,and 8081.

Dns resolution test succeeded

Just tried to watch doc martin on vod and it's asking me to enter a pin to view but I haven't set a pin number up., also just tried catch up match of the day and non spinning circle saying please wait then it just goes back a screen.

Guessed the pin ,1234 and watching doc martin on vod , so looking like it's catchup and virgin store not working at moment.

Marketing terms aside, CatchUp is Video On Demand 🙂

So if you can view that VOD programme, then your OD is, fundamentally, working.

Therefore what you may have is an issue with some specific programmes - you mention Virgin Store? Are there any other (specific) programmes that don't work?

Just been through a few and majority seem to be working now , sports genre seems to not work but getting error message about bbc I player being down . Virgin store still down ( non spinning circle ) but more seem to be working now .I'll keep an eye on things and hopefully the other programs start working . Will cancel the call out in couple of days if it continues to improve , thank you for your help.
