No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

Tried a full reset of both Hub and V6. Netflix works, but no On Demand Catch up or Prime. Haven't touched anything in my set up i.e. moved cables around etc, nor messed with the settings. The V6 is connected wireless to Hub.

I can watch Prime on my Smart TV no probs.

I must say since switching over to Virgin a couple of years ago, I've had NOTHING but problems. I love everything about it...... when it's all working properly.

Any advice please?

Re: No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

In addition to Ben's question, you've not said what happens when you try to use OnDemand or Amazon Prime?

50" RU7020 HDR Smart 4K TV.

High quality 4K HDMI cable connected to port 1. Like I said, I have done nothing to any part of the set up.

Re: No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

What happens if you set the V6 box to output at 1080p only?

Re: No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

Sky Cinema on demand is just a blank screen. Prime says 'Something went wrong, for more help go to website...'.

Re: No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

I've just done that and it's working fine. But the picture quality, particularly 4K Youtube vids, is much poorer.

Re: No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

If 1080P works then it sounds like it's an HDCP 2.2 issue between the V6 and the TV. Setting the V6 to 1080P makes it use HDCP 1.x instead.

Usually the issue is because the TV is old enough that only one of the HDMI inputs supports HDCP 2.2, but that isn't the case for an 'R' series TV. All inputs on modern Samsung TVs should support HDCP 2.2.

Unfortunately if there is an issue with a current Samsung TV, I'm not sure what else than using the 1080P workaround that can be done until either Samsung, Virgin or both work out why it is doing it.

EDIT: Good point below about additional A/V kit though, as that can also cause the issue.

Re: No Catch Up, On Demand or Prime

Just to cover the obvious, is the HDMI directly connected or is there any other intermediate kit involved - splitters or suchlike?
