Newbie v6 TV box play MP4

Hi all

New to Virgin Media (literally just installed everything but not had much time to play!)

I have a NAS drive on my network, full of MP4 films. Is there a way to connect the v6 box to this drive? Either integrated into the search (would be amazing!), or any way to search and play, or perhaps Plex?

while I’m on here .... how does the v6 connect to the service? I have a coax cable AND an Ethernet. Which does it use for what? (Everything’s in a corner while I connected it up, but when we move in we won’t want the tele in that corner!)

Thanks in advance!

Re: Newbie v6 TV box play MP4

Unfortunately the V6 cannot by design play anything from unofficial sources

The coaxial cable delivers the TV channels and the guide the Ethernet is for on demand, firmware updates and TV guide

Re: Newbie v6 TV box play MP4

The V6 is not a media player. I use a Dune HD with a wired connection to my hub to play videos via the LAN from my NAS to my TV and 5.1 surround sound system, there are many other makes including Popcorn, Zappiti, Zidoo, Vero, various Kodi boxes, etc.
