Netflix having trouble playing title

Hi I'm having trouble with Netflix on my V6 box for the past 3 weeks. It fixes for a short while while when I switch off the box and restart the box but then reverts to the same issue.

Issue:

Netflix loads, I can select a title to watch loads up to about 25% (maybe more) then the error message appears

"we're having trouble playing this title at the moment. Please try later or select a different title"

Trying later or a different title does not work either. I have to physically switch off the box and turn it on again.

This is an annoyance to say the least.

Thanks

Re: Netflix having trouble playing title

If you go into settings on your V6 box and choose display

lower the output resolution to say 720p instead, and post if this makes a difference

or fully reboot v6 box and sh3

Re: Netflix having trouble playing title

Netflix is provided via your Internet connection. If you have a problem with is (either slow Internet or poor Wi-Fi connection) then this can happen.

First some information about your setup.

What Internet provider do you use and what speed is it and what do you actually get (speed test)?
How is the V6 connected to your Internet router? (wired or wireless)?

There are some tests you can do on the V6 box to check if it has a good enough connection to the Internet (look under Help on the V6 menu)

Re: Netflix having trouble playing title

But the exact same title will play on all my other devices.

Internet is with virgin Media, 500mb, I get at 250mb+ 90% of the time

Connected to my router through wifi

A few things to check / try.

First look at the Wi-Fi connection statistics on the V6 box ; Settings->Network->Network Status.
Then do a Speed test from the V6 box - it's somewhere under the Help menu.

Post the results here.

Finally, unregister from your Netflix account in the V6. I think it's under System Info-> Netflix Account Info.
Then reboot the box and log back into Netflix.

Re: Netflix having trouble playing title

Hi I would add to that if you can connect with an Ethernet cable as this a more reliable and stable way to do this.Regards Micky

I've tried hardwiring to the router still the same issue.

How can I just get this solved?

Re: Netflix having trouble playing title

Hey there Ykar, sorry to hear you're having problems watching Netflix via your TV Box. I've tried to take a look at your TV Box setup but I'm unable to as it's currently not switched on. Can I ask whether you have problems with other Apps on the TV Box such as On Demand and Amazon Prime if you have a subscription? Is it affecting all titles in Netflix or just the one?

It's always best to have your TV Box connected via ethernet and if you're already connected via ethernet we can look at whether there is a broadband issue. However please turn your TV box on so we can take a closer look and try and pin point where the issue may be.

Thanks,

Lisa
