Mode not supported. Resolution not supported.

I have a Samsung US tv which I’m trying to use in the uk with a virgin v6 box.   I have tried using different high speed hdmi cables and all the ports on the tv.  I’ve reset the tv and the virgin box.  But all I get is a message saying resolution not supported mode not supported.  Virgin box is on 1080 resolution on my old uk tv.  I can’t access virgin box settings when it’s connected to my US tv as it’s not getting a signal.  Samsung assure me I can use my US tv in the uk.  Anyone got any ideas?  Thx.

Re: Mode not supported. Resolution not supported.

Samsung are likely right but, if so, they should be telling you how to set up your TV to accept the UK  PAL standard, rather than the US NTSC standard, I believe.

Thanks.  I agree. But blood from a stone springs to mind.

Re: Mode not supported. Resolution not supported.

What's the model of the TV?

I'd expect it's down to the 50 / 60 Hz difference between the US and the UK rather than the resolution itself.

Re: Mode not supported. Resolution not supported.

There should be a setting on your US TV to change it over to PAL, but without the model number, it is difficult to assist you as how to do this.
It may be an idea while your V6 is connected to the other TV to change the Video output settings, from the automatic settings, and select all the modes available.
Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Video Output > Video Output Format > Change Settings
Select each one  below 1080p and press OK so they are ticked and then select Continue
Put your V6 box in standby connect the US TV and take the V6 box out of stand by.

You can't learn anything from a mistake until you admit that you've made it.

Re: Mode not supported. Resolution not supported.

I have seen this on the boards here several times. Frame rates used in the US/Japan are different to Europe. My understanding is that SOME features will work on a US TV used in the UK, but not all.

Re: Mode not supported. Resolution not supported.

Thanks and sorry to all for delay in replying. Been traveling.  Adjusted settings on Virgin box to below 1080 and tried US tv.  Still saying mode not supported.

Model number of US tv is A11822F8-C65F-4BB7-8387-E99FF744B0A3.jpeg

 Grateful any other ideas!
