Live TV pixilated

I'm having a problem with live TV being pixilated at peak times.

The menus and catchup TV is fine. Some of my recordings are effected but only the ones that have been recorded whilst it's pixilated.

I've tried all the usual tricks to fix it. I've used a new HDMI cable. I've phoned virgin who were not very helpful and told me to ring back if its not stopped in 72 hours. I can see from other posts that more people are having this problem.

It's a real pain because I dont have good signal on a normal aerial so when it happens I can't watch the TV at all!!

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: Live TV pixilated

ixellated pictures on live TV are often the sign of a signal fault. If you've rebooted your box once, then there's likely a fault somewhere, so this will need VM to intervene. You're likely to need either an engineer visit or a replacement box, depending on what VM's remote diagnostics turn up.

OnDemand, CatchUp & streaming uses the internet rather than the live TV feed, and wouldn't be affected by these issues.

First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and ideally you'll need to call them.

150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service". Alternatively you can wait on here for staff to respond, which may take a day or so.

Re: Live TV pixilated

Hey @Smeeveena,

Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on our forums.

I have been able to locate your account and can see that there is an issue with the signal going into your box as @japitts stated above.

I can book the appointment from here but would need to confirm a few details via a private message, that I will drop over in a moment.

Please look out for the private message and we can get started.

Regards,

Steven_L
