I am about to build a new house and want to have the router terminated in a downstairs cupboard and the V6 box terminated close to the main TV in the living room, which will be some 4 metres away.
I would like to install the cabling as the house is built, and not when Virgin want to install it, so I'm planning on installing a duct between the boundary and the downstairs cupboard and preinstalling the coax during the build so it can just be connected up.
I'm a retired data networking consultant with 40 years + experience so understand the tech side of things.
Hi, yes the V6 and hub would be connected Via ethernet or WiFi ( Ethernet preferred ). The hub and the V6 would also require a coax connection to our point on the wall outside. You would only require 1 external coax and a coax running through the wall with the Ethernet.
