Ethernet Cable

Recently moved my furniture around which now leaves me with a problem.

My router is plugged into the wall on the left hand side of my living room. However, my tivo, tv aerial and everything else is on the right hand side of my living room.

The perfect solution would be to move the router, but just cannot get hold of a human being at Virginmedia to arrange an engineer.

So I'm hoping there is another solution.

The ethernet cable provided with the tivo box is way too short. Do VM have a longer cable? Say 4 metres?

I tried my own cable but then my tivo service would not work.

Re: Ethernet Cable

staff here can arrange a engineer to move the hub but that will cost £99.
you can use any network cable upto a 100m to connect the tivo to the hub.
The tivo still MUST have a coax connection to the vm network

Re: Ethernet Cable

If it is only the Ethernet cable which is short - then use the V6 WiFi option.

But you will still need the coax connected to the router and the V6.

Re: Ethernet Cable

you need to wait for VM staff to get to the post. It can take a few days.

Re: Ethernet Cable

Hi there tf2169,

I understand you want to relocate your Hub to be closer to the rest of your equipment? If so there will be a one off £99 charge added onto your next bill. Can you confirm what type of TV box you have, I ask in case you have more than one as the connections are different in how they are connected to the Hub. If you're happy with the £99 fee, please let us know so we can arrange this for you after passing security.

Thanks,

Lisa

Re: Ethernet Cable

Hi there @tf2169

Apologies for the delay in response. We have been very busy and doing all we can to get to each customer ASAP.

Thank you for confirming which box you have. Did you want us to book the relocation of the hub for you? As you've been made aware previously this would carry a £99 charge.

Thanks,
