DVR Serious Problem

My cable box just switched off and a green screen came up and said that a serious problem had been detected!...it has been restarting for a about half an hour now, says it will take up to 3hrs to fix...from other post I have read on this some people are still waiting 24hrs later...any help very much appreciated...

It rarely ever fixes itself, you will likely have to call up to get a new box posted out to you? 

I work for Virgin Media and my posts are my own opinions
