Lisa, I have had no further problems with a missing picture from the V6 box ,when it is first turned on, once I dropped the V6 box resolution down to Full HD instead of 4K.
The remote control problem was brought to my attention by Janice, my partner. She said that she used to use the TV button to switch back to regular TV (actually Freesat).
Personally in the past, when I used to use the Virginmedia Tivo box, I used the TV button to shut the TV down with a long press. I hardly ever use the Virginmedia boxes now because the LG TV performs all the apps faster than the TIVO or the V6 box can.
When I tested the control for her, trying to turn the TV off with the TV button (or back onto TV as she said it used to do, .. maybe on the Tivo box it did) it generally shut the V6 box down although when the V6 box came back on it would not behave it’s self, i.e. not responding to the buttons correctly.
I decided to test out ALL the LG TV codes. The ones you directed me to and another set I got for LG TV’s. Out of all the codes there were only three that worked to Up and Down the volume, 0011 which was the one the remote control looked to be set to. In trying the others offered via the V6 box procedure I found 0119 also changed the volume. I finally found the last code 0303 worked the TV volume and the V6 box had stopped shutting down even when the TV button was pressed. At no time did the TV button shut the TV down. That is strange because the Virginmedia remote can shut the TV down when determining a working TV code by one of the programming methods offered.
As also mentioned, I appeared to be able to pair the remote to the V6 box, the remote eventually shows the flashing green light after following the pairing procedure and there was some little box appeared with information on the TV screen, but not typically what you would see when you have just paired up two bluetooth or Wi-Fi items. There was no apparent benefit after pairing, the remote does not operate the V6 box except through line of site InfraRed.
