Connecting V6 box to TV with 15 meter HDMI cable

I have been trying to connect my new Samsung RU7400 TV to my V6 box using a 15 meter HDMI cable without success. A friend suggested that it wouldnt work as the cable was too long for the 4K data. Any suggestions how I get round this (problem is the route of the HDMI cable requires a lengthy cable).

You may need to get a fibre optic HDMI cable.

Re: Connecting V6 box to TV with 15 meter HDMI cable

Normal UHD cables don't work reliably over about 3 meters

Thanks for that. Problem I have is routing a new cable as HDMI cable was routed during a house conversion and now touting a new cable wouldnt be easy

The problem with HDMI cables is they can and do go wrong and need changing regularly to keep up with the latest tech, running them in walls is a bad idea long term

Appreciate this starts to get overkill, but if you start down the Fibre route you should really keep the ends 'netural'. Something like this could be better idea - as it would allow you to swap the termination points at later stage for different standards in the same way that Virgin Media can do it with the HFC network.
