Catch Up suddenly not workkng

Hi,

About 3/4 weeks ago I lost the capability to get Catch Up on my V6. I have turned everything off/on numerous times. Rang the Virgin support line who tested the services, confirmed it was working (automatically) then cut me off.

Nothing has changed in my setup. Box connected to a LG tv 4K and Yamaha av amp. All good cables, broadband now up to 100mbs. It plays bbc iplayer catch up and when I choose other progs it plays me all the adverts then says “This show is temporarily unavailable” etc etc.

Can someone advise what could have changed to lose my service?
many thanks

Re: Catch Up suddenly not workkng

The V6 was updated to require HDCP 2.2 when the V6 is set to 2160. What you've described usually means there is problem maintaining that somewhere.

What model is the TV and the amp specifically?

Hi,

Thanks

LGtv is a 49UF77 under 5 years old, and the Yam is RX V479.

Re: Catch Up suddenly not workkng

That TV seems to have two HDMI 2.0 inputs and one HDMI 1.4 input.

The amp needs to be connected to one of the HDMI 2.0 inputs.

Also that amp only supports HDCP2.2 on HDMI 6, so the V6 needs to be connected to that.

Re: Catch Up suddenly not workkng

Hi Ben,

thanks so much. Took a few goes to get the amp to recognise the V6 on a different port but now I have Catch Up back and functioning. How odd for the most up to date port to be no 6. I’m sure I’m not alone in intuitively plugging my main device into port 1. The amp now calls port 6 TIVO 2, any thoughts on how I can stop it reading TIVO on port 1 just to avoid confusion?

anyway thanks for your time and expertise. Much appreciated.

Re: Catch Up suddenly not workkng

According to the manual here

https://uk.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/5/827225/web_YG906B0_EN1_RX-V479_RX-V579_om_UCRABG...

It's Setup > Function > Input Rename
