Catch Up Issues

Hi, new customer of around a week. Not been very impressed having moved from Skyafter 15 years. I watch a lot of catch up and the service is constantly glitchy and pixelated is there anything that can be done to improve this? Thanks.

Re: Catch Up Issues

need a few more details

how is your box connected to the hub?

have you checked all cables are tight in the back of the box?

is it just catch up or are you having trouble with live tv or recordings?

Re: Catch Up Issues

The connection is as per the engineer set up. Looks like an ethernet with a yellow end. Recordings seem better than on demand. Not sure if it's related but internet has been hit and miss too (should be up to 350) but can run as low as 50mbps at times?

Re: Catch Up Issues

Broadband of only 50Mbps isn't right especially as you're on VIVID 350. Call VM again to sort this out.

Re: Catch Up Issues

Unless it’s a direct cause of the catch up issue, I’m less worried about the internet speed. Whilst it does go as low as 50mbps equally I’ve speed tested it at up round 200+ (although still not 350 I guess!). Any suggests regarding the poor catch up quality. How do I get a response from VM direct?

Re: Catch Up Issues

This issue seems to be specifically catch up. I watched a couple of episodes of the Gadget Show from 5 HD, one of which was recorded and was great, the other from catch up and the picture quality was noticeably poorer and the glitching was present throughout. If any one has any suggestions I’d be really grateful. I’m actually wishing I’d stuck with Sky at the moment 😞

Re: Catch Up Issues

Hi Moffey,

Thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear this.

Just to confirm is this happening on multiple shows on catch up?

Re: Catch Up Issues

Hello Moffey

Thanks for your post regarding the picture quality with Channel 5HD Catchup

We are aware of this issue and are currently investigating this with Channel 5

As soon as I have an update I will post on here

Regarding the Broadband speeds do you want me to have a look at this for you?

Look forward to your response

Re: Catch Up Issues

Hi Gareth. As per my earlier post, this issue isn't just specific to Channel 5 HD and is happening on ALL catch up TV. Constant artifacting and break ups. Can this please be investigated? As for the WiFi, that swings from bad to good to great, if there is something you could do to make it consistently great then that would be a help, but the catch up issue is a bigger problem I'd like solving if possible. Thanks
