Cant play shows recorded on my other box

I can't play shows recorded on my living room V6 on my bedroom V6 and visa versa. They sometimes work but then freeze and go back to menu page. Any idea how to resolve this? I have 200mb download with Virgin so ample speed and performance. Never happened before. Many thanks, Greg

Re: Cant play shows recorded on my other box

How are the two V6s connected to your home network (Ethernet or WiFi)?

Your 200Mb download speed isn't relevant to this as that's your connection speed to the outside world, whereas it is the internal network speed in your house (perhaps poor WiFi connection?) that is relevant to streaming between boxes.

Re: Cant play shows recorded on my other box

It’s not the speed you have from Virgin Media but how each V6 is connected to your home network that is important.

Which Virgin Media Superhub do you have?

If Hub 3.0, have you separated the WiFi bands into one each for 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

How is each V6 connected to your Superhub - direct Ethernet cable, Ethernet over powerline adapters or WiFi?

If WiFi, which WiFi band does each connect to?

Re: Cant play shows recorded on my other box

Hub 3.0 I'm sure, and there is a 2.4GHZ option and a 5GHZ option when searching for Wi-Fi on my phone.

Unsure which connection the boxes are on mind. I'll try figuring that out.

Is there a better collection? Between the 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ?

Appreciate your reply

Re: Cant play shows recorded on my other box

You can establish how each box is connected by navigating as follows:

Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network > View Network Status >

and, assuming WiFi connection, reporting:

Link Status

Signal strength

Connection Speed

As a reference, my single V6 has a rock solid connection over WiFi with the following values:

Connected (5GHz), 100% (excellent), 866 Mbps.

Your hub is probably in your living room, so connect the V6 in that room to the hub with an Ethernet cable.
