Cannot Pause live sport on Prime Video

I have a V6 box and a LG 43uk6400plf Smart TV. When I try to watch live sport on Prime Video, there is a message on the screen saying "Pause, ..., not available for this device" and the Pause button on my remote has no effect. Is this due to some limitation of my TV or a problem with the V6 box, or something else?

I'm not a fan of live events on streaming apps at the best of times, and don't use Prime. I make a very reluctant exception this time of year for the November series, but it's through sheer gritted teeth, taking comfort from this November being the last year of Amazon's rugby contract. I digress.

I suspect this is a limitation of live events on a streaming platform, that you're trying to equate pausing of a live broadcast channel with a pause of a live stream - which I don't believe is possible. I may get an opportunity to test this later today.

It seems to have been an Amazon issue on some devices. Seen other platforms reporting the same.

 I don't recall ever being able to pause live Prime Video streams (or being able to record them), which is why I much prefer live broadcasts if there is a choice.

Sorry you are unable to pause the Live Stream on Prime.

This is not something we have been made aware of being a fault.

I will need to go away and see if this is the norm with its being a streaming channel as opposed to say Sky Sports.

As soon as I have an answer I can pop back on here and let you know.
