Re: Cancelling Sky Sports & BT Sports

Hi there @ColinStevenson

Welcome to our Community and thank you so much for your first post - I am sorry that you're having some issues downgrading your package to remove some of the Sports channels. I am sorry though, we do not usually assist with package changes in our Forum.

There should be no reason as to why we cannot assist you via telephone (150/03454541111) or text message (07533051809) - our Customer Care team are available on both contact methods to assist you with your account query.

We do not have email for general correspondence - I am sorry.

In regard to your request, we would require 30 days notice to remove these channels. Depending on your package or bundle you currently subscribe to, this could also remove or change your package price. Remember,  BTSports is included as standard as part of some of our packages so these channels can only be removed if you downgrade your whole package.

Can we ask when you last attempted to contact us via either phone or text message? Did you ever get a reply via the text service?

Cheers

Katie - Forum Team

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports & BT Sports

Why should I be charged an extra 30 days???

I could go into a Virgin shop in Grimsby a d get them to stop my Sky Sports & BT Sports each year when the season FINISHED. I never did but I knew I could.

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports & BT Sports

You'd still have to give 30 days notice if you went to the shop, it's part of the T&C's

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports & BT Sports

Plus if you downgrade or Sky sports is part of your package and you are still in contract you may have to pay a EDF to change

Virgin Media shops have closed their retail stores and the staff redeployed elsewhere within the business

Re: Cancelling Sky Sports & BT Sports

VM will not discuss this with you on here.  You have to call it in -- 08.00 midweek, is the best time - although people are still reporting getting through fine at other times with no long waits. Go to “Retentions” on 150 or 0345 454 1111 - options 1-1-4-4 "Thinking of leaving" when you should get through to the people who can help you sort it. They may well offer you a completely new (better suited) package that might save you even more money - all in lieu of agreeing a new contract.
