Buffering when I am watching on the red button

I have been switching over to iPlayer to watch some of the live tennis but I get a lot of buffering and the picture freezes and sometimes even crashes.  I don't get this problem on all iPlayer tv but it appears to be the live things.  I have an old V5 box, do you think it needs replacing?

Hi 734066801

VM don't have a V5 box.   Do you mean you have the V6 TV set top box?

There shouldn't be any problems with the apps on the V6

You can check which box you have < here >

If you have the older Tivo box that came out before the V6 (they've been around about13 years), then it's slower, has less memory and fewer apps, and struggles with iPlayer, then swapping to V6 would be a vast improvement.

You get the best internet connection if you use ethernet rather than wifi.

If you use wifi with your VM TV set top box then it's probably best if you connect the box to the 2.4Ghz band.  The 2.4GHz is a stronger signal but slower than 5GHz, however you don't need a high speed for watching the apps.
