Brand new v6 - cannot access Catch Up, On Demand or Apps

Received and installed a new V6 box last night - 25 November - replacing a Tivo.
Installation was straightforward but although I can search and choose programmes in Catch Up and On Demand they will not play and return to the selection screen. The same thing happens with Apps.

Please advise.

ps
I attempted to pair my remote control to my TV but the menu to do this in Help and Settings just doesn't seem to be available!

Re: Brand new v6 - cannot access Catch Up, On Demand or Apps

Your TiVo had an inbuilt connection to the internet for all the online facilties. Your V6 doesn't, and connects to your VM homehub for onward links to the internet.

How is your V6 connected to your homehub?

V6 is connected to my home hub via 5MHz wi-fi.

Re: Brand new v6 - cannot access Catch Up, On Demand or Apps

5Ghz WiFi.. good stuff.

If you follow Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network on your V6, it's worth checking two things in here.

1: On the top-right, the box reports your connection status and signal strength. What does it show?

2: On the left, your regular (6hourly) EPG updates are reported, with success/failure. What's reported?

Assuming all looks good in here, you can try using "Connect to Virgin Media services now" at the bottom of the screen, but you need to be sure of a working connection first.

Re: Brand new v6 - cannot access Catch Up, On Demand or Apps

Thank you for your help with this.

Last attempt, today at 14.48, shown as ‘Succeeded’.

Signal strength at 62%

Since your last reply I ran a (long) network cable between the Hub and the V6 but this made no difference. Strangely however I can now access the ITV Hub without problem but the others still refuse to connect.

I would give it up to 48 hours for all the facilities on the new box to be active. Some of these take a while to update.

Re: Brand new v6 - cannot access Catch Up, On Demand or Apps

Pleased - and relieved - to report that a re-boot last night delivered access to all the Catch Up, On Demand and Apps.
My grateful thanks to those who provided invaluable assistance. 👍

Now, I only have to crack how to pair the V6 remote control to my TV...
