Moved the box to our bedroom as technically we no longer need Virgin but haven’t cancelled. The box can’t find any channels at all and has been stuck at 16%. all apps, catch up, in demand etc work?

The 16% symptoms are consistent with a TV box that doesn't have a co-ax cable connected to it. It's the co-ax that carries live TV channels whereas OnDemand & streaming is carried over the internet.
Either you don't have a co-ax connected, or the one you've moved to has a fault.
