Beep when selecting HD Channels

Hi All

I have just upgraded  from a tivo to a v6, all is good except that when I am going through the channels the box beeps when I select a HD channel, I have turned the sounds off but this still happens, does anyone know how to stop this

Are you using a Panasonic tv?

Yes, normal channels do not make the noise

It is a fault in a chip used mainly in Panasonic tvs but also in a few others.  It does it on any channel change where the audio format changes so is normally noticed changing between SD and HD channels.

The only way around it is to bypass the tv for you audio.

It does it with Sky and BT boxes too.
