Just trying to watch rugby recorded today on BT ultimate and no sound on either TV via either V6 box recording.
Anyone else have no sound on ultimate recordings. Always seems to be some issue with this channel

To put my reply into context, I only watch BT Sport Ultimate for the Live Premiership Rugby (rugby union).
I have set up the V6 box to record from channel 531 (BT Sport Ultimate) when live premiership rugby is broadcast on that channel, or BT Sport n HD otherwise. Usually this results in a high quality recording but from time to time, the recording has suffered from one or more faults including: garbled sound, pixelated images, and a couple of times, no sound at all. I have logged this fault with VM in the past but “no fault” was found.
It seems to me that the recordings are faulty only when Exeter Chiefs are playing; but surely this is coincidence? Or maybe its because I am most keen to watch those matches and the disappointment registers more strongly.
Watching channel 531 live (at the moment) is absolutely fine. I can’t tell you if there was a problem on the day as I wasn’t at home to watch it live!

Hey @sorethumbs and Lardysqueaker,
Welcome back to the community and thanks for taking the time to post.
I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your BT sport ultimate recordings, is this happening on all recordings from the channel and does it only happen on this channel?
Does this only happen on recordings or do you have issues on live TV as well?
Regards,

Exact same issue. I try to set recordings in HD only to avoid Ultimate but it always seems to want to record in ultimate when they show same match

Do you experience this with other channels also? If you have more than one set top box does this happen on the other boxes also?

Dear Rob,
Answers below:
1) Problem is only on BT Sport Ultimate (BTSU) on this box
2) Absolutely no idea about the BTSU issue on our other box, and its more than my life’s worth to record rugby on that one.
Mind you, the other box had horribly pixelated (unwatchable) recordings all last week on other HD/SD channels; but seems to be better now after a power cycle reset.

We had no BT Ultimate recording today. Got an hour into the Exeter game, so records all of the pre-game chit chat, then stops and the recording is just repeated adverts etc but no rugby. This has happened several times now and is beyond frustrating when we can’t choose which channel the rugby is on.

We recorded the rugby today, it’s on a series link, as we knew we would be out all day.
Sat down tonight to watch the game, and after an hour, so all of the pre-game chat and analysis, we get to the game and the recording stops. Won’t fast forward and it switches to repeating adverts. Why did we not game the game recorded? Beyond frustrating….
