Atmos via Netflix

Does the v6 box output dolby atmos via the Netflix app? Or outout dolby atmos at all?

I saw a thread saying that it would be implemented late 2018 but after trying last night all the atmos titles were only displaying 5.1 audio. I can get atmos from the Netflix app on my LG TV so the problem must be with the v6 box

Re: Atmos via Netflix

Atmos is supported on the V6, but currently it's available on BT Sport 4K and also apparently via Prime Video.

Netflix on the V6 doesn't currently have Atmos.

Re: Atmos via Netflix

Hi, Just wondering what the latest info is on the V6 box and Dolby Atmos?  I need to decide what to plug in to my Atmos capable soundbar directly and what to plug in to my TV.

Thanks.

Re: Atmos via Netflix

As neither TOSLINK nor HDMI ARC have the capacity to transmit Dolby Atmos you need to connect your soundbar to the V6 by HDMI (unless you have a recent TV which supports HDMI eARC). If the soundbar has an HDMI output then you use it to connect to the TV, otherwise you'll need an HDMI splitter with one HDMI cable going to the soundbar and the other to the TV.

Here's a crude diagram.

                     |--> TV
V6 --> HDMI splitter |
                     |---> soundbar
