Amazon Video on TiVo

I’ve never been able to get Amazon Prime Video to work on my TiVo box.

I've linked it with the code and it shows on my Amazon account.

I can search and see programmes but as soon as I select play it says “it’s encountered an issue” and won’t play.

any ideas??

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

Are you using a TiVo or a V6? If you're not sure, check here

Prime is only available on the V6 - if you do have a V6, check if you can load the app manually, by following Home > Apps > All Apps > Amazon Prime

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

Hi japitts

Yes I am using a V6 box (sorry old habits using Tivo name).

Even when I go through the Apps > All Apps etc it still does the same failure.

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

No problem - always worth checking, I've moved this post to the V6 board to save confusion 🙂

Do other streaming apps work? Does OnDemand work ok? And, simple fix but... have you restarted your box through Home > Help & Settings > Clear or restart box

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

Yes I've just tried Pluto TV (never knew we had that), ITV Hub and they both work fine.

Is it an error at Amazon's end? I did deregister and re-register yesterday to see if that would fix it - but no luck.

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

Hi sibthp,

If it's a 4K TV then it might be an issue with the HDMI cable.

Please can you try the following (ignore the error code)  virgin-tv-error-codes/603

This page explains about HDMI compatibility /virgin-tv-watching-4k-ultra-hd-content

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

Some OnDemand broadcasters & streaming apps are now enforcing the use of (industry-standar) HDCP2.2 complaint equipment when watching in 2160p (4K UHD)

Some older equipment isn't fully compliant with HDCP2.2, and causes this chain to break.

https://www.cnet.com/news/hdcp-2-2-what-you-need-to-know/ explains a little more about HDCP.

Re: Amazon Video on TiVo

So I checked the TV is HDCP2.2 compliant - so does this mean my HDMI cables aren't?
