Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

Hello

Apologies in advance - to all the pedants - but I require a bit of help please.

I am simply trying to get Amazon Prime Video - in order to watch the Premiership football on Boxing Day - to work. Either through the App on the V6 Box or via the two channels listed on the TV Guide, it is the same.

The issue is I get a stuttering picture which is seriously annoying and the TV has nearly gone out the window.

I have a 3.0 Hub. The Settings on the TV are set to 1080p, and I have searched to death on the internet to try and get a SIMPLE solution.

Both the 3.0 Hub and the V6 box are connected via Coaxial cable (standard I believe)

What am I missing please ?

Thank you. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

How does the HUB connect to the V6?

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

Wifi.

Does it need to physically connect also in order to work ?

And which port does it need to connect to on the V6 Box ?

To presumably any of the 3 remaining network connections on the Hub ?

If that is the case I will need a bloody long Ethernet Cable, as my Hub and V6 Boxes do not cohabit.

Thank you for your reply.

Just an additional thought - does the Tivo box need to connect using the 5GHz connection, as my Phone is using that leaving the 2.4GHz connection for the Tivo ?

And how do you change this eith in Hub Settings or Tivo Settings ?

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

You CAN connect over Wifi (V6 to HUB), but a cable is always better.

Phone (s) on 5Ghz and V6 on 2.4 will work, but that could be the source of your issue. 2.4 Ghz tends to be congested and subject to interference.

What does a speedtest on your phone connected to 5Ghz say?

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

You can do speedtests on the V6 in the help section

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

Kippies.

Thanks for the info. That is how I had my phone/V6 set originally. Changed the V6 to 5GHz but made absolutely no difference to the picture whatsoever.

Phone Speed:

Download : 230Mbps

Upload : 37.1Mbps

Ping : 13ms

Jitter : 3.1ms

ozsat.

Would you mind telling me WHERE on the V6 Box you can do this ? ie. which menu options as it is not obvious and I'm sure you know exactly where.

I had a lifetime of riddles whilst my father was alive thanks. Lol

Thank you !

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

Any way to test it using a cable connection between HUB3 and V6?

Re: Amazon Prime Video on Virgin Media V6 Box

I would suggest both a V6 speedtest and a V6 View Network Status.

V6 speedtest:

Home > Help & Settings > Help > Our Other Products > Broadband > Take a Speed Test >

When the Start TV Speed Test button appears, press Play on your remote control, not OK

and report the download and upload speeds.

View Network Status:

Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network > View Network Status >

and report :

Link Status

Signal strength

Connection Speed
