Hi
I've been having connection dropouts on my V6 box. It's been connected to 5Ghz with 60% signal strength (download speed is 866 Mbps). To try and remedy this, I've switched the V6 to 2.4Ghz with 97% signal strength (download speed is 78 Mbps). It's early days, but so far so good. A wired connection is not an option.
My question is, will 78 Mbps be enough to use all of my V6's services?
Thanks!

Hi @PP480
78 Mbps should be be enough to use all of the V6 apps, catch up and on demand services (see picture below). The live TV isn't broadcast over the internet and so wouldn't be affected by speed restraints.

That’s very helpful, thanks!
Would the table above apply if I were ever to upgrade to the 360 box?
Thanks!

Hi again @PP480
Yes that would apply if you changed to the 360 box. In fact the speeds shown for 4K/UHD in the picture would apply to any device you use to stream apps on, for example a smart TV or firestick, and would also be good enough to watch live TV over the internet on.

What are you watching at the time of these dropouts? Live TV or using the apps?

Thanks for the info! That’s good to know.
I wonder if you can answer one more query I have. Not being a techie,I don’t understand where the box is picking up 866 Mbps on 5Ghz as I don’t have anywhere near that speed with my connection. How is this?
Thanks!

Just watching live TV.

866Mbps is the transfer speed across your network from hub to V6 and has nothing to do with the Internet speed.
One more thing: do not be deceived by strong WiFi signal strength as there may still be problems which will not be resolved until you use an Ethernet cable.

To also add - keep in mind with a potential move to TV360, that it's no more an upgrade than moving from Apple to Android is the same.
It's a conversion - to a completely different software platform that is fundamentally not TiVo. Not wanting to start another V6 vs TV360 debate - there's plenty of those already - but worth pointing out.
It's a valid point that when using wireless, you've essentially got two connections to check on: The wireless to your home-hub, and the onward internet connection from there.
