Youtube Search history not showing

My TV youtube search history has gone. All that is showing is random, trending searches. Anything I search for isn't retained. The Watch history (videos) are there but no searches

I'm so sorry to hear you're having some trouble with your YouTube search history. Am I right in thinking this is when using the YouTube app on your TV box? Did you have an account that you were signed into that isn't signed into anymore? If so, the history should be with the account.

Yes that's correct it's when using the youtube app on my TV. No, the account I am using is the original one I setup some time ago

Are you signed into an account on the YouTube app, or are you using it as a guest account?

Hi @kendo49,

If you're signed into the same account then the search results should transfer across each device you access/use YouTube on, so it'd be a YouTube functionality and feature. We don't maintain the app, we just provide it on our box.

Yes what you say should happen but its not I'm afraid. Would I be best contacting youtube support? Thus has only just happened in the last week or so. My searches aren't retained either. However, youtube on my android phone is fine

You can try rebooting the TV box to see if that helps, but if not then as we don't maintain the app and its functions it'd be best to speak with the owner of the app.
