Which lead goes in which splitter connection?

I’ve been replacing the leads which come out of my splitter with shorter ones - one to the router and the other to my V6 box, however, I forgot to pay attention as to which went in where.

On my splitter outputs, one is marked 3.6db and the other 4.0db. Anyone know which is the correct output for each connection, or does it not matter?
