Where is the whish list with keywords that was available on TiVo/V6

Tuning in

I was upgraded to 360 in the last few week. I cannot find the "whish list with keywords" that was available on TiVo/V6. On the previous Virgin Media service I could select a set of keywords and set a "whish list", I could select the specific channel etc.  Without this feature you end up with loads of recordings that you need waste time going through to find what you want and waste time having to delete loads of recordings that are not related. Is this feature tucked away somewhere or 360 is actually a TiVo downgrade?

Hi @Dee2Mark

The 360 does not have a wish list however you can search for something using voice (e.g. ‘Movies with Matthew McConaughey’) and then manually save the result to your Watch list.

OK thanks for for confirmation. The assumption from users is that good features are preserved or improved when you get an upgrade. Quite disappointing that "Wish list" feature has been lost in 360 and replaced with the inferior "Watch list" 😞

It's often been mentioned on the forums, it's not an upgrade, it's a switch to a different operating system,  much like moving from android to ios, or windows 8 to windows 11 or linux or a mac operating system. They all work differently and have some similair functions, with some functions not available on the other systems.

Some people hate the 360 because it's missing a number of the copyright functions of the tivo, I'm in the other boat, I prefer the 360, but I never made use of all the bells and whistles of the tivo/V6 boxes.   << This thread >>   highlights some of the differences

The following two links should help you get used to the 360, but if you have any queries or problems just holler.

It would be nice for VM to tell you that you will lose functionality if you move to 360, definitely not explained to me when I was asked if I wanted to switch. The 360 UI is clunky and feels like a “dumbed down product” compared to the TiVo UI. I've read somewhere that VM has developed 360 because they do not want to pay for licensing for the TiVo software. If this is really the case then it is very disappointing, considering the amount of money you are charged for VM you would expect a premium product. I’ll stick with VM for now but will look at other providers at the end of the current contract to see if they have a better user interface. But you never know VM may decide to invest more in 360 functionality in the meantime 😉

No other providers have the TiVo functionality.  Personally I got used to 360 and have found it to be better overall especially in playback of on-demand...  ability to skip and breaks quickly is better than V6 is one example

VM have had Horizon V360 imposed on them by their parent company Liberty Global, who use Horizon in all their other European Cable TV operations. VM have had to make some alterations to allow for the different broadcaster agreements over here, but the core firmware is LGs standardised kit so VMs hands are tied as to what modifications they can make.

This does sound similar to complaining that Microsoft don't point out every shortcoming or lost feature when offering a conversion from Windows 10>11.

The software supplier (VM in this case) is not going to point these things out but do a sales job on encouraging all the new features. Buyer-beware kicks in for identifying the negative aspects.
