Virgin tv and firestick

Tuning in

I've recently had the new virgin tv 360 box sent out and ever since receiving this I've had issues loading my firestick. Virgin is in hdmi 1, firestick in hdmi 2 but if the virgin box is on standby the firestick has a blank screen. When the virgin box is powered up, then you can access the firestick menu as normal. Has anyone had this issue or know how I can use the firestick without having to power up the virgin box evert time?

Hi @Daniellesmith31

Have yu tried the firestick in a different HDMI port?

Have you tried the firestick in a different TV?

Are you using the firestick HDMI extender which helps cut out interference from TV's and STB's?

On your firestick

  • Turn off HDMI-CEC Device Control in Settings under Display & Sounds, then turn HDMI-CEC Device Control back on.
  • Cycle the available resolutions on your Fire TV device by pressing and holding the Up and Rewind buttons together for five seconds. Allow your device to cycle through all available resolutions.

Have you tried factory resetting your firestick?

  1. Press and hold Back and right side of the navigation circle together for 10 seconds.
  2. On the TV screen, choose to continue or cancel the factory reset. If you don't choose, the device resets automatically after several more seconds.

Are you using the remote to select HDMI 2?

Hi, I'm using the TV remote to switch between the hdmi sources. I only use the virgin remote when using virgin

Are you by any chance powering the Fire TV Stick from the 360's USB port? If so, plug the Stick into the TV or wall socket (best).

Hi

No the firestick is plugged into the hdmi port and the plug socket and the same with the virgin box so technically neither are connected
