Hi @david_i_evans

How many 360 do you have?

If you have two or more then they will be given names. You can check the box names by going to Settings > System > Rename boxes

If more than one box then unless you upgraded two V6 boxes to 360's one of them will be a mini box (smaller than the main box) which doesn't contain a hard drive. Therefore the main box needs to be switched on so the mini box can stream the recording from the main box.

Go to Settings > System > Standby power consumption. You have 3 choices.
Fast start  - the 360 starts quickly but is less energy efficient
Active start - more energy efficient than fast start but the box takes a little longer to start up
Eco start - the most energy efficient and probably the one you're using. It uses minimal power but takes a while to start.
The first two options are best if you have a mini box and want to watch a recording on it.

If you do have more than one 360 box, and both were updated from  the V6 interface then when setting up a series link go to Advanced and select which box you want the recording to be made on. It will then be recorded on that box going forward, even if the default recording box is one of the others. So all you need to do is reset your series links to record on the box you want them to. Unfortunately to reset the links, you'll need to delete and reset. You can also use the same method to record individual programs rather than series.

I have two boxes already renamed by the engineer- They are, as far as I can see bothe the same type of box which, reading the answers here, may be the issue?

there’s nothing on the help etc that mentions Virgin Lounge which I’d expect as it’s a type of error/issue etc

thanks for your answers

Hey david_i_evans, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry you are having some issues with Virgin Lounge.

Did any of the advice above help?

Please can you also confirm to me does any on demand work such as iPlayer or the ITV Hub? Thanks

New around here?

Hi

Yes it’s working but intermittently as there are times when the 2nd box says having trouble with VL or is hanging despite having a gig’s internet - the issue is with what I would call the 2nd box - both boxes are named differently by the type of room they’re in

I did wonder if it’s caused by both boxes being the same type/size? As that has been mentioned - brand new boxes

learning that when it happens to watch live tv and wait for the problem to go away and return, often the next day, to find the problem “fixes itself”

if it says there’s an error with VL - why are there no references to VL in the help section etc - surely that’s where you find out what VL means?

fingers crossed it’s ok at the moment

Hi again @david_i_evans

As per my previous post, If you have two or more 360 boxes then they will be given names.

You can check the box names,  by going to Settings > System > Rename boxes

You will see one of your boxes is named "Virgin Lounge" - That's possibly the name given to that box by either VM, an engineer, or previous customer that may have had that box.

You can rename  that box to something more suitable for yourself, or leave it as it is. The other box will also have a "name".

It's just a way of recognising which of the two boxes are which.

Thanks for your reply

I think I’ve mentioned previously? Both boxes have different local names - I haven’t mentioned what these are - bedroom and lounge

I have followed instructions on this site - hence thinking the issue may not be the naming of the boxes - more the fact they are two of the same

i get catch up tv via apps eg BBC/ITV - it is only when watching recordings via the box I get an intermittent issue with an error stating it’s an issue with VL

Yes, "Virgin Lounge" in the error message is referring to your Virgin box named Lounge. The 360 defaults to recording on one master box and the other boxes connect to that to setup and playback recordings. It sounds like the issue you are getting is because your bedroom box cannot connect to your master box named "Lounge" to access the recordings. This could be because of a poor wi-fi signal, or because the box is actually turned off.

The bedroom box is the other side of a wall to the modem and I have 2 repeaters so plenty of tech etc

no worries - thanks for your help
